Alex Thompson
Chief Product Officer
Alex Thompson serves as the Chief Product Officer at SMArtX. Alex focuses on product strategy and marketing and works directly with the development team in building SMArtX’s managed accounts technology. Alex joined HedgeCo Networks in 2009 and served as Due Diligence Coordinator and Executive Vice President of the firm’s affiliated broker/dealer, HedgeCo Securities. Starting in 2010, Alex developed and operated the firm’s investment management division, HedgeCo Investment Management, that specialized in seed investments for emerging hedge fund managers.
Prior to joining HedgeCo Networks, Alex served as a product manager for JMT Software, which developed Electronic Health Records and Medical Research Administration software solutions, and spent time working as a technology and financial consultant for private medical practices. Alex graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky with “Departmental Honors” from the University’s Finance Faculty.
